Mihir Shah and Ashis Mondal, members of the national advisory council, relinquished their charges on Friday with the term of the current NAC ending on May 31. They conveyed their wish to be relieved of their duties to Rita Sharma, secretary, NAC.
The meeting of the council, scheduled for Friday, has been cancelled, as four out of eleven members were occupied with other things.
Shah and Mondal’s exit comes close in the heels of the extensively covered resignation of Aruna Roy who had blamed the government for not heeding the council’s recommendations.
